I feel like its been a while since we've done work in the kitchen. In reality, its probably only been a few days. I've been working on the little details since the countertop was measured. Things like getting all the knobs on the drawers and doors, getting the doors lined up with each other properly, painting and such. Well yesterday, our countertop was delivered. In a convergence of situations, there has been a giant dumpster in our community since Wednesday at noon, and was headed out this morning. So we decided to dump all the little pieces of countertop we'd been using and wait for the new big peice.

Then I made the decision to make a call to a friend (Bob) and see if he could give me a hand getting it in place. After getting the old sink out, we were able to get the new countertop in place. Its heavy, and perfectly cut. I mean perfectly. We have this built in look next to the fridge, and the countertop cutter, cut a perfect hole for it to slide down against. Because of that, this new countertop fits perfectly. We glued it down, and I think I'm gonna let gravity to the rest of the work.

I still need to glue down the island countertop and the little piece by the door/stove but that won't be to hard. The heavy lifting is done. People ask whats left so here's the list: tile the backsplash, finish the floor (both kitchen and pull and redo the carpet with laminate wood flooring). So for now, check out this picture of the new countertop and enjoy!
