Last weekend, the family and I took our first trip to Patapsco State park. It has been previously recommended by friends of ours and was again recommended to me as a good place for photography. So with the awesome weather last weekend, we set out.

We took a picnic style lunch and after eating we hiked up the cascade falls trial. It was an easy hike and very rewarding. The waterfall you see below is only about a 5-10 minute hike from the parking lot and was an awesome view. I took this handheld by holding my arms in as tight as possible and holding my breath. By using the lowest ISO possible and then decreasing the aperture and forcing the shutter speed down I was able to get this flowing look for the waterfall and still be handheld. It was definitely fun, and I look forward to sharing other pictures from the tip this and in coming weeks. Enjoy!
