I read yesterday that apparently there are different phases of sunrise and sunset. At intervals of 6 degrees each, up to 18 degrees there are three phases of a sunrise and sunset (read here if you're super curious). So this sunset happens to be in what is called the "Civil Twilight" portion of a sunset. It is when the sun is less than 6 degrees below the horizon and you get colors like this!

The sun is setting on the Potomac River down by the National Harbor. A few weeks back we took a trip to the Gaylord National Hotel to the ICE attraction they had. Enjoy!
