The New Basement

So here it is. Finally. I'm finally posting a picture for all of our newly painted basement. I've been really hesitant to post a picture because I'm don't want to post a picture when its not all done, but several people have asked to see what it looks like, so I figured I take a shot now and share, and once its all done up perfectly, I'll share again.

The biggest change is the removal of the green stripped walls, replaced by a calm blue. The trim is also newly painted, although you can't see from this picture, its a very light creme, that matches the stairway down the basement. We had old slip covers that we washed and put back on the couches to make them black, and match the scheme better.

In the back of the room you can see the temporary placement of the bookcases of DVD's we have, and on top of one of them is our new projector. Jenn and I both love the new projector. The image is everything I hoped it would be, and then better. We currently have it setup at about 140" diagonal, and its awesome.

Things left to do are to get a nice media cabinet to house the cable box, receiver, and playstation, and sit the projector on top. We have found one, just need a way to get it from Ikea to our house. The old Magnavox tv that I've had since I was a kid, obviously doesn't belong, and neither does the old blue chair. Both are welcome to a good home if you're interested. Also, we need to decorate the walls, bring in some more of that movie atmosphere. We've got ideas, just need the time to work through them.
