The purpose behind the effect, in my opinion is to get a better representation of the shadows and highlights than what a single image can capture. This picture here is of the Thomas Viaduct, on top of which the B&O railroad exists. This viaduct can be seen as you drive down River Rd. on your way into Patapsco State park. Enjoy!

I don't take to many HDR images, but I'm trying them out a bit more here and there. Its a lot easier to do it with the new camera that allows for auto-braketing. If you have no idea what I'm talking about when I say HDR, it means High Dynamic Range, and its acheived by using software to combine multiple images that were taken with different exposure settings. In this instance, I took three images at -1, 0 and +1 exposure and then combined them.
