I mentioned Monday that the family went to Quiet Waters park on Saturday for some trail walking fun. We headed down to the pavilion at the water and wandered the trail that circles around down there. At one end is the dog beach, or at least what used to be the dog beach.

I walked around the fence that was put up to keep people away and took this shot. As you can see, the beach area has eroded pretty bad, which is why they closed it to dogs. I really like this slanted tree sitting right on the beach, it gives it all a neat feel.

Also, from a photography standpoint, I've finally branched out away from auto white balance. For this shot, and most of the shots taken at Quiet Waters, I had the camera set on "cloudy" white balance. This means that the camera adjusted for the fact that it was cloudy, and therefore things are going to look different as a result. I have found that the auto does a great job in most settings, but on cloudy days, just doesn't do good enough. Enjoy!
