One of the blogs that I read, Digital Photography School, often posts weekend challenges. The idea being, they give you some sort of subject or theme and then you are left to take photographs that fit that idea. The challenge for this past weekend was basic, yellow. When we were enjoying pool time with the Sofinowski's this past weekend I noticed they had some awesome yellow flowers around the pool area. So after we finished swimming, talking and getting Abbi to sleep, I wandered around and took a few pictures.

I absolutely love how this picture turned out. I intentionally framed it so that there was some blank area to the right, to give more emphasis on the flower. The yellow of the flower is composed with only natural sunlight. However, I used a very short exposure 1/1000 of a second, so the area behind the flower is almost black. No post processing for this image at all, certainly a contrast to yesterdays very post processed image. Enjoy!

Also - in the comments to yesterdays photo, I posted a link the original image pre-color changes since Ben asked to see it.
