For my birthday I got a new camera lens, the Nikon Nikor 50mm 1.8. This is the first lens I've purchased for my dSLR's that isn't a replacement lens. This more of a occasional lens, but it could certainly be a lens used regularly. Since its fixed focal length, it doesn't have the versatility of my standard 18-200mm, but its got the beautiful 1.8 aperture. This picture was taken with that 1.8 aperture setting, and you can see the awesome focal fall off from the tip of the flower. I got the lens for stuff like this, and for portrait shots of the family. Enjoy!
